Instigator is a legendary class mod for Rafa in Borderlands 4. It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from Vile Lictor located in Umbral Foundry in Terminus Range.
Special Weapon Effects
El muerto al pozo, y el vivo al destroza. – Whenever Peacebreaker Cannons fire at an enemy, gain a stack of Instigator and lose all stacks when Peacebreaker Cannons fire at a new enemy. Rafa gains +2% Gun Damage for every stack of Instigator.

Variants of the Instigator class mod will distribute 7 bonus skill points across the following skills:
- Deft Hands (max. 5 points)
- Lateral Plinking (max. 1 point)
- El Alacrán (max 1. point)
- Concentrated Build-Up (max. 5 points)
Stat Bonuses
Includes a bonus to Action Skill Duration and one random stat bonus.
Trivia
- The flavor text is a play on the Spanish phrase "El muerto al pozo, y el vivo al gozo," "the dead man goes into the pit, the living man goes to enjoy," an idiom describing moving on with your own life after the death of a loved one. In the case of the class mod, the phrase is modified to read "the living go on to the slaughter."
