Background

A gang of the most notorious outlaws on Gehenna, riding large Saurians known as Devils the gang strikes fear into the hearts of the good folk of Gehenna.

History

The Devil Riders are a gang on the Outer Rim fringe planet Gehenna, they were formed by an outlaw named Butcher Rose with promises of riches from finding the fabled Ruiner. The Devil Riders are very similar to the outlaw gangs of the Old West. Like the outlaws of the Old West, Devil Riders ride domesticated beasts, although instead of horses they ride Saurians called Devils, they wear cowboy hats, are usually armed with Jakobs revolvers, rifles, and shotguns, and speak with a thick Western American accent.

Rose and the Devil Riders felt plundering the old tech and weapons left behind by the Jakobs corporation from Project Endless Horizons would make them all extremely wealthy. However, the people of Vestige felt that Jakobs' experiments were dangerous and should be left buried in the past, where they belonged. Further, the Sheriff of Vestige outlawed the domestication and riding of Devils. This led to tensions between both groups, with things escalating to an all-out war when Rose realized the town contained a piece of a valuable artifact known as the Coresploder. Rose attempted to enlist the services of Juno to obtain the artifact, however when Juno learned that Rose also intended to massacre the town, she changed her mind. Disliking needless bloodshed, Juno warned the town of Rose's plan. When Rose learned of this, she placed a bounty on Juno's head, with a bonus if she was killed with her own hatchet.

Involvement

The Devil Riders are the primary antagonists of Bounty of Blood, and are encountered throughout Gehenna. In addition to scouring the planet for Jakobs tech, they often attack and raid the homesteads and settlements of the region. In addition to riding Devils, they also ride vehicles called Jetbeasts, which are jet-powered vehicles with a Saurian-shaped frame, featuring the head of a Devil mount that was killed mounted on the front as a type of memorial to their fallen steed.
