Lump is the title of a group of common rocket launchers in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Torgue. The Lump is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source.

Usage & Description

Lumps consume 5 ammo per shot to fire a large, slow-moving ball of plasma which tethers to nearby enemies and damages them. It will explode after a short distance, which causes all tethered enemies at the point of detonation to take additional damage. Unlike Maliwan weapons, the charge is automatic, only requiring a single press of the fire key in order to shoot.

Notes

• Unlike most alien barrel weapons, it only comes in epic rarity.

Notable Variants

• Plaguebearer - Legendary heavy weapon by which orb fired will summon extra homing projectiles around it.
• R.Y.N.A.H. - Legendary rocket launcher that fires two radiation orbs that link to targets before exploding and dealing massive damage. Upon detonating, smaller orbs will be launched at all tethered enemies that explode on contact.

Trivia

• The behavior of the plasma ball resembles that of the BFG 9000 from Doom 2016.
