Hydrafrost is a legendary pistol in Borderlands 3 manufactured by COV and is exclusive to the Guns, Love, and Tentacles DLC. It can only be dropped from Shiverous the Unscathed located in Negul Neshai.

- Always cryo. Fires snowballs. After a kill, every second shot fires incendiary projectiles for 10 seconds, along with every second shot dealing bonus incendiary or shock damage.
Usage & Description
The Hydrafrost's high fire rate and large buff after a kill can deal significant damage incredibly quickly, especially when combined with the proper additional element (incendiary on flesh or shock on shields). However, the very fast fire rate makes sustained fire difficult without access to ammo refills. Additionally, since the second element is assigned randomly, and so the character may end up in situations in which they receive extra incendiary damage against a shielded enemy or vice versa.
Because the HyrdaFrost only receives its massive buff after getting a kill, it is incredibly good at common enemies, but less effective at fighting bosses without other enemies around to receive a buff from. Despite this, because its damage per second is still very respectable without a buff, and extremely high with it, it is able to take down any enemy in the game.
Notes
- The shock or incendiary damage received after a kill deals +200% bonus shock/fire damage.
- Hotfix 12/17/2020: Increased weapon damage by 30%, increased shock or incendiary damage duration from 6 seconds to 10 seconds, and added fire projectiles to each buff.
