Special Weapon Effects

That happens all the time.

• Increased weapon damage (around +60%).
• Fires explosive rounds (splash radius: 100). Critical hits ricochet 3 rounds.
• -50% critical damage shown on item card, which has no actual effect.

Usage & Description

The Headsplosion fires explosive rounds that deal bonus splash damage, and critical hits from the weapon ricochet three rounds instead of one, giving the Headsplosion high damage and crowd control potential.

Notes

• The Headsplosion's item card mentions a critical hit penalty, but in fact it does not have one. Its unique gun part has a nominal -50% critical hit damage modifier, but this is ignored on actual damage calculation.
  • For example, with three other +10% critical damage parts, theoretically it's 50% × 110%³ = 67% which results in a "-33%" value on the item card.
    In fact, the -50% part is ignored so it's 100% × 110%³ = 133% for an actual critical hit modifier of +33%.
• The Headsplosion shares its default weapon skin with uncommon Torgue weapons, with the trademark "Explosive" painted on the side.
