The
Greed is a

Jakobs. It is dropped by
Captain Scarlett during the missions
X Marks The Spot and
Treasure of The Sands after
Roscoe's defeat and her escape.
Special Weapon Effects
Thief. – Always incendiary. Cannot spawn with a sight, and no movement speed penalty when aiming down sights.
Usage & Description
Greed is a unique weapon in two ways: It is one of four unique Jakobs weapons that spawn with elements, and is one of two weapons without speed penalties when aiming down sights. However, in actual combat it is mediocre, and its element gimmick limits its versatility greatly. Still, it will often outperform similar Jakobs revolvers when used against flesh enemies.
Notes
- The Greed's "full speed while aiming down sights" effect is caused by the Scope part being forced to be completely empty (or NULL), rather than using the "Scope_None" part found on other iron sighted weapons. Setting the Scope part to NULL on any other weapon will produce the same effect.
- Greed and Interfacer are the only weapons in Borderlands 2 that can spawn with that setting.
- With enough points in Expertise, Greed can allow a Commando to run faster than sprint speed while aiming down the sights, especially when coupled with Class Mods that add points to it, such as Legendary Soldier or Slayer Of Terramorphous class mods.
- Greed can be farmed by re-entering The Leviathan's Lair, and either signing in a second player, or having another player join the game or simply commit suicide as soon as they enter the lair. This will cause characters to spawn within The Leviathan, regardless of mission progress, and trigger a save point. Upon dropping down from this ledge, those inside the Leviathan can fight Roscoe and claim the Greed. A save and quit will put the character back inside the Leviathan. Exiting the Leviathan will trigger the fight with it, regardless of mission progress.
Trivia
- Greed's flavor text is a direct reference to how it is obtained.
- Picking up the Greed immediately after Scarlett flees will prompt her to say "Ah, you stole it anyway. Shame on you. And also, well done."
