Dead Ringer is the Action Skill of Vex's The Fourth Seal skill tree in Borderlands 4.

Effects

Spawn a Phase Clone Minion, choosing Specter or Reaper. Phase Clones lose an ever-increasing amount of Health per second, and their Damage Type matches Vex's current Attunement when spawned.

Can spawn a Reaper that Taunts enemies and deals Melee Attack Damage, or a Specter that deals Gun Damage and cannot move.

Change History

• The October 23rd, 2025 patch fixed this skill so that the Specter displays correct visual effects when equipped with a weapon with a Maliwan Element Switcher.
• The April 30th, 2026 patch adjusted Specters to be able to attack larger bosses from farther away.
• The May 28, 2026 patch fixed Specters and Reapers to properly display their health and duration bars on all platforms.
