The Traitorweed is a plant commonly found across Gehenna. The plant has yellowish, sea anemone-like appearance with number of slowly waving tentacles. Closer inspection reveals swarm of small bugs flying around.
Background
While working for the Company, Oletta was experimenting with various forms of mind control.
The Mentas Dominium, or "menta gnats", are unique species of parasitic bugs, which, when exposed to infused core can seize the minds of their victims. The bugs are attracted to the Gallius Vertium flora, more commonly known as "traitorweed", across Gehenna. Agitating the plant, with melee attack or by shooting at it, will cause the bugs to seek a nearby host. The bugs can then temporarily charm hostile creatures - and even humans, effectively turning enemies into allies.
It takes about 5 seconds for the plant to recover before it can be aagitated again.

Trivia
- Mentas is a Javanese word that means "Fresh". Dominium is Latin for "Dominion", which means to have power or control over something or someone. Therefore, Mentas Dominium literally translates to "fresh dominion" and can be more accurately translated as "fresh control" or "new control". Which refers to the menta gnats' ability to take over or "newly control" another creature or person's mind and body, albeit temporarily.
